Justified is a trio that started singing in their home church, Charleston Mountain Mission, in 2000. The original trio members were Crystal Godbey, Debbie Rayburn and Wes Muncy. After much prayer and several invitations from other churches to come and sing, the trio felt God was leading them to venture out and share the Gospel through their music, so they, along with Wes' wife Jeanell, purchased a PA system and hit the road whenever their work schedules would permit them to. Jeanell was always alongside Wes, providing moral support and prayers for the trio that they might be a blessing to others.
One day, while studying the Word of God in the 5th Chapter of Romans, Wes felt the word "Justified" seemed to jump off the page. After several attempts to come up with a name for the group, Wes felt that he'd received his answer and the ministry of "Justified" was born. The trio continued in that ministry until the untimely death of Wes in March of 2005, due to a massive heart attack that left Jeanell, Debbie and Crystal devastated.
After much prayer, soul searching and the encouragement of others, those left behind in the ministry felt that God wanted it to continue. Joy McCutcheon expressed an interest in becoming a part of the ministry so she, Debbie and Crystal regrouped and became the vocalists for Justified, and Jeanell stepped up to her role as sound technician and manager of the group. Crystal's husband, Ron, became the driver for the group and made sure the group got to their various singing engagements. He was later "promoted" and became a vocalist when Joy departed the group in 2009.
Crystal and Ron's daughter, Tiffany Long, also adds her angelic vocals whenever her busy schedule permits. She is featured on two songs on Justified's latest CD, "Foot on the Rock."
