Debbie Rayburn

Debbie Rayburn was saved at an early age and began singing at her small church in Monaville WV (Logan County). One night, when she was about 8 years old, her church hosted a “Singing Convention.”   A local group by the name of the “Evangeliers” heard that Debbie knew a song they had recorded called “Come Spring;” so, much to her surprise, they called her up to the platform to sing the song with them. The rest is history. She has been singing gospel music ever since.

Debbie sang with several groups in the Logan area before moving to Charleston in 1994 due to a merger of the bank with which she was employed.  She soon found a home church at the Charleston Mountain Mission where she became a member of their awesome choir and often sang as a soloist, as well. However, Debbie began to miss the harmonies of singing with a group. It was then that she approached Crystal Godbey and Wesley Muncy about organizing a trio and, in 1999, “Justified” was formed. Debbie’s husband Sid, who became a born again Christian in 2002 (Debbie had prayed for his salvation for 24 years), travels with the group whenever he can. They are the parents of Meredith Dillon and Brent Rayburn and have three grandchildren, Sydney Gore, and twins, Easton and Grayson Dillon.

The Lord blessed Debbie with the ability to pen a song by the name of “It Could Have Been Me,” which won a Song Writer’s Contest judged by the legendary Dottie Rambo. Justified was blessed to have been able to perform the song at one of Dottie’s concerts.

Debbie has since written several other songs and thanks the Lord for stirring up the gift that is within her and will always be grateful to Dottie for the encouragement she provided.

Crystal and Ron Godbey

Crystal and Ron have been married for 35 years and are members of the Charleston Mountain Mission Church in Charleston, WV. They have a son, Nathan, who has been the excitement of the family from the start when he was born with a head full of red hair.  What a surprise!  Nathan’s wonderful girlfriend is Amanda Kugal.  Ron and Crystal's daughter, Tiffany, was also born with a head full of hair, which was coal black.  Tiffany and her husband, Shaun Long, are great together and are such a blessing to the family.  Ron and Crystal have a beautiful 5 year old granddaughter, Lillionna Grace, who keeps them very active!!   Lillionna Grace loves the Justified Trio CDs.  Ron and Crystal are very excited that Shaun and Tiffany are expecting a new baby in October.  What a blessing!  God is really good to the Godbey’s

Crystal was saved when she was ten years old and has been active in God’s work ever since. After teaching Mathematics in Kanawha County schools for 28 years, she now is the Kanawha County Mathematics Curriculum Specialist for grades 6-12.
Crystal loves singing in “Justified” and her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28.  Crystal  believes that whatever God takes us through is for “our  good and His Glory.”   Crystal was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006.  She was treated with 8 rounds of chemotherapy and 37 treatments of radiation. To God be the glory, she is a survivor and gives God the praise for her healing.

After Ron's retirement from the Charleston Fire Department, he became an active member of "Justified."  Ron is a talented, wonderful mister of music and has written several songs, so is a valuable asset to the group.  He also possesses the wonderful gift of sharing the Word with others, so God called him to teach. He currently teaches the Good Shepherd Sunday School Class and on Wednesday nights at the Charleston Mountain Mission.

Ron likes to share this personal  testimony with others.   When he was 18, he went to see his parents at Christmas.  His parents knew that he was running hard from the Lord so they told him they had committed him to the Lord for his salvation.  On his 19th birthday six months later,  he went back to visit his parents.   Through the night, the Lord dealt with Ron’s heart and his lost condition.  Ron let God come into his heart and was gloriously saved.  He asked  God to never leave him and to not let him go back on Him.  Now he knows that God is true to His word and keeps His promises to never leave us or forsake us.

Jeanell Muncy

Jeanell was saved at the age of 16 and started playing the organ for her home Church, Diamond United Methodist Church, at the age of 17.  She married Wesley Muncy at the age of 19 and introduced him to Southern Gospel Music.  Shortly after they married, Wes started singing with a quartet in his home church and 28 years later, joined Debbie and Crystal to form “Justified.”  Wes never saw Justified’s ministry as his alone; it was a ministry shared by he and Jeanell.  He felt that when God called him into this ministry, He also called Jeanell.  On Wednesday March 16, 2005, Wes and Justified sang the song “I’m A Winner Either Way” as their final number at a revival at their home church, the Charleston Mountain Mission.  Little did anyone know it would truly be his final number; on March 17, 2005 God called Wes home. His death was very unexpected
and Jeanell could not imagine a future without him or the ministry that was his passion.  She also felt that, with Wes gone, her part in the Justified ministry was over; however, God had a bigger plan.  Debbie and Crystal, unsure of what to do without Wes and not wanting to press forward without their “sister” Jeanell, got together and contacted Jeanell.  They asked her if she would be willing to stay with them and continue handling the bookings and financial affairs.  Soon after, Jeanell agreed to continue the work that Wes had helped to start. She also decided to continue on with Wesley’s plan for her to start running the sound board for the group.  A short time after Wes’s death, God woke Jeanell up at 4:00 in the morning with a song.  She arose and went to the piano and started writing.  That was the beginning of God’s plan to use Jeanell as a songwriter as well.  God has now blessed Jeanell with the penning of 11 songs and is honored to have 9 of them recorded by “Justified.”

Wesley and Jeanell were blessed with one daughter, Lisa, and a great son-in-law, Tim Miller.  They were also blessed with a granddaughter, Alyson Elizabeth “Aly,” on November 21, 2004.  Wesley had 4 wonderful months with Aly before God called him home. On June 22, 2007 a precious grandson was born and he was named for his PaPaw, Mason Wesley, “Mason,” for short. When Mason was six days old, Jeanell was diagnosed with breast cancer. Today she gives God all the glory for she is a two and a half year cancer survivor!!
