History of
Justified
(Original as written by Wes Muncy)
“Justified”
is a trio that started singing in their home church in 2000.
After much prayer and several invitations from other churches to
come and sing, the group felt that God was leading to venture
out and share the Gospel through their music.
The group is made up of Debbie Rayburn, Crystal Godbey and Wes
Muncy. The group members and their spouses are all Christians
and they all attend the Charleston Mountain Mission.
This ministry would not be possible without the prayers and
support of our spouses. Jeanell Muncy takes all of the group’s
bookings and also handles the financial part of the group. Ron
Godbey and Sid Rayburn help with the driving and also setting up
and tearing down the sound equipment.
The trio’s name comes from Romans 5:1 where the Apostle Paul
wrote “Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
The mission of Justified is to lift the name of Jesus through
song so that Christians might be blessed and encouraged but most
of all so that the unsaved may hear the Gospel and come to a
saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
(Addendum added 5/24/06)
On March 17, 2005, Wes Muncy was called home to be with the
Lord. The night before he died he was doing the very thing that
was his calling and passion. The group was singing during a
revival service at their home church. The last song he sang that
night, “Winner Either Way”, has become a lasting testimony to
all who were ever associated with him.
Two nights before Wes died he made a telephone call that
proved to be a sign of things to come. His words in that call
were “I’m really going to need you and use you.” Although at the
time those words had a different meaning, they were prophetic,
because the one to whom he spoke them was to become the newest
member of Justified.
What We Believe
We as a whole , believe in the virgin birth, death,
burial and the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We believe God sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins.
He paid a debt He did not owe for a price we could not pay. For
this love we could never understand. We truly are Justified,
“Just as if I’ve never sinned.”
Our calling is to see souls saved and to minister to those
that are hurting, troubled and carrying a heavy burden. We would
like to share some scriptures that we find helpful in many
situations.

Been Me” received 1st place in a song writing contest judged
